Almost Skinny My thoughts on the MTV show Skins.
-- Possibly imminent cancellation because the show is not good. Casting doesn't click like British version. UK Skins was edgy but good and not for teens and younger to watch.

Maybe Is it possible that when Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, in reference to the Christmas Day Bomber, said that the system worked that she was referring to the terrorists' system?

Shocking! As the Tiger Woods story continues to unfold and expand, I can no longer remain silent, though that would have been my preference. I feel compelled to reveal the truth and in doing so in clear unambiguous terms clarify my involvement with Tiger Woods... Click to see complete text of Press Release.

DISAPPOINTED President Obama referred to Israel as occupiers at the UN.

- STILL SPOT ON - Universal Health Care is GREAT, as long as you can schedule your illness or injury 12 - 18 months ahead of time.
→ October 25, 2008 - 12:04 PM - sign status log entries.
→ October 24, 2008 - 7:30 PM
- Checked on sign after sundown, noticed sign had been moved approximately 2 ' in an easternly direction. Sign appeared to be unaltered. I moved the sign back to original lawn placement. Suspect sign interference occurred between 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM.
→ October 24, 2008 - Just put a McCain / Palin Yard sign up on my front lawn. I admit I have concerns of trouble from those who don't support McCain. My hope is that free speech is still alive and well in the United States of America. Just for fun, I set up a counter to track my sign.
Sign status - GOOD for: (See home page for clock.) Don't have time now to code for two separate 'count up' clocks on one page.
→ October 1, 2008 - CHANGE has a new meaning after watching a report on the tax increases Obama would put in place.
You'll be lucky to have any CHANGE left in your pockets.
→ September 11, 2008 - I'm watching cable news coverage of McCain and Obama at ground zero. This is VERY weird. Not sure I understand how this is not political. Shouldn't President Bush, our acting President and NY dignitaries be there instead? Very weird having candidates on display there. Looks so odd.
→ August 15, 2008 - After watching the opening Olympic ceremonies, this thought popped in my head: How can the Chinese hosted Olympic opening ceremonies be so precise and Chinese restaurant menus have so many mistakes?
→ July 31, 2008 - Barack's cure for foreign oil dependence:
He suggested today that by simply maintaining proper tire pressure and having the car tuned up, that as much oil would be saved as would be obtained from domestic drilling. It's good advice for proper car maintenance but...
updated 08/05/08 -
1. Conservation is part of the equation solution not an answer.
2. Focus on activities that DO NOT PRODUCE A SINGLE DROP OF OIL won't produce any oil.
3. We don't know exactly how much oil is yet untapped.
4. Increasing domestic drilling, production, and refining is important and will create jobs and have a positive economic impact. [I am backing off my prior comment about the dire concerns of 'the transfer of wealth OUTSIDE of the U.S.' this is a complex issue involving trade and more requiring more than a sound bite or bullet point.]
5. If we don't drill on our coast, foreign countries likely will. According to FactCheck.org, "Cuba has leased exploration blocks to foreign companies for areas as close as 60 miles off Florida's southern coast." Who do you think would be safer in oil endeavors U.S. companies or foreign operators?

The preceding clock and question result of Al Gore's energy challenge on July 18, 2008. Here's one of his cents and second cent.
→ July 17, 2008 What is wrong with the vocabulary used when reporting on Israeli news? A prisoner exchange? Prisoner connotes live. Prisoner exchange implies those jailed are exchanged it does not sound like it includes residents of the morgue. This is a disturbing development.
last week Friday, July 11, 2008:
→ On Jesse Jackson's comment that Barack Obama, "talks down to black people..." This isn't news. Barack talks down to all people - no matter their color.
→ On former Texas Senator Phil Graham's comments about the 'mental' recession and whining. He is absolutely right. The mainstream media are the primary whiners. Thinking there's a recession may cause a person to act as if there's a recession. Yes, gas prices have gone up; that does not equal recession.

What Is Almost CoherentTM?
It's the name of my column.
It good naturedly describes my work.
It's the name of my Web Site.
It's how I feel a lot of the time.
It's a catchy name I used when I first had my local paper column.
What you will find here are mostly humorous, sometimes political or serious articles. Thanks for visiting. Topics will cover the gamut from ding-dongs, to PMS tablets, to current events, to pregnancy tests, and so on. I'm not sure what kind of gamut that is but a gamut none the less.
I'll be posting brand new pieces along with my dusty archives. I suppose an on-line portfolio is better than a box of unclipped clippings sitting in the back of a closet. And borrowing from one of the major network's promotion of re-run programming: If you haven't seen it, it's new to you. So please read on and enjoy. Visit frequently for new postings.

I know that if you feel strongly, good or bad, about a piece you'll let me know. I always like feedback. Sometimes I'm amazed at it, other times perplexed by it.
